Vintage Kohno Guitars

1972 No 8 640mm scale  $4,650 plus shipping USA only

What a guitar. Sounds better than it looks and plays like a dream. This extremely rare 1972 640mm scale was built prior to the opening of Kohno's large shop when guitars were being built in mass production to meet demand. With the exception of special order guitars the from 1968 to the mid 70's the standard scale was 660mm with a  52.5mm nut and a large Ramirez style neck. This six parallel brace style (three on the treble side a center and 2 on the bass side) gives a powerful and pleasing sound, meant for a concert hall. Stunning looks with a few tiny marks and a few professional touchs up to some small dings which are barely noticeable. Perfect guitar for a player with smaller hands or a mature player wanting easier reach on the left hand streaches.

Sound file available on request.

Guitars are accurately rated.on quality of sound and appearance.  I hold a pefrormance degree from UNM and was an associate professor under Hector Garcia.  I also studied four summers in Cervera Spain with Emilio Pujol.  Recordings of each instrument enable you to choose the best guitar that fits your budget and desired sound. These instruments have been checked, adjusted and repaired as needed. Action is set to the most comfortable for a finger nail player with a strong technique.
